My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Went to school 'to learn', not necessarily knowing what to study.
2.
Got SO lucky, my first job was at Roadtrip Nation, learning to follow my passions.
3.
Moved to Oregon to be involved in a great running community; yes, running!
4.
Slowly creeped into more and more cool jobs involved with sports, fitness, running and the outdoors.
5.
Got a job with Adidas Running.. I run, travel, work and play hard!
6.
Next will be navigating from my current role to something even more perfect for me.
7.
I can't wait!!
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
That I would be the next Katie Couric, I'd be successful, they could see me in New York.
How I responded:
They were making up outcomes for me to live up to. None of my goals, interests or passions have to do with big TV, big money or big cities, all the things people told me I definitely would be/could have. I had to listen to myself, translate my passions into a story that I could tell others, and repeat it over and over until they were also repeating MY story to me, and not the ones they made up for me.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My parents both took technical classes to get into their lifelong careers. We didn't know what a Major was really for, so I guessed on what I would like, and stayed open to the possibility of change along the way.
