Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
You should just party and have a good time.
How I responded:
The Party Life is a dead end.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I started my own painting company in college because my divorced parents fought over money a lot. I just decided to try and pay for as much of it myself as possible. And I did.
I learned that hard work makes a big difference. You can learn how to work through your disability by developing skills and habits. Having an LD can ultimately lead to a lot of positive results if you respond properly.
Moderation in all things. Pleasure can be deceptive and is not the solution to pain.
