My path in life took a while to figure out

Worked on the insides of my PC and upgrading it. Then learned to build my own. Ran my own company.
3.
Learned about basic networks and mostly the cabling. Worked as a cable tech for a while.
4.
Took a job with an enterprise company, running their IT group. Learned more about networking.
5.
Got network certifications. Worked on many networks. Saw there was so much out there to do!
6.
Got recruited to be a trainer. Started doing that and loved the interaction it brought!
7.
Made things up as I went along to get where I am today! Goals are sometimes fleeting. Grab on!
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
I don't think I really received any negative noise along the way. Other than I was always taught to be a productive member of society and always have my eye on ways to improve myself! I think that was very helpful along the way. Never settle.
How I responded:
I would say the most important part is to be yourself. There are lots of studies out now about people's happiness in life. If you aren't doing what you enjoy, and aren't happy, then it's a bigger toll on your health. If you can survive, but be happy, that's much better than thriving and being unhappy! Make an impact. Make a statement! Have a plan. See where you want to be and look at a path on how to get there. Everything starts with a single step!
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
While we weren't well-off, we always had enough to get by, so I didn't feel many pressures listed. I was an outsider in school though, marching to my own beat. There's nothing wrong with that! Be yourself! And concentrate on making YOU better! :)
