THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
No one really said anything outright but some people treated me as if I couldn't make my own way through college. That made me want to work harder to prove them wrong.
How I responded:
You can fall victim to the noise or you can challenge yourself to rise above it. Prove them all wrong no matter what gets in the way. Overcoming a challenge and putting that accomplishment in your pocket is something that no one can take away. It makes you stronger and ready to face the world. You have to believe in yourself. You can do anything!
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I struggled to find a way to balance my finances and realized I had to live within my means. My mother always said there is a difference between "want" and "need".
My parents weren't able to tell me what to expect when I left for college. The only thing that got me through was this motto "remember who you are and act accordingly".
