My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Wanted to go into fashion design.
2.
Realized I hated pins and drawing.
3.
Went into early childhood education at a 2 year institute.
4.
None of my credits transferred to my 4 year college.
5.
Teaching job market crashed--changed my major.
6.
Ended up doing something totally different--now I'm in banking! Prior to that I worked retail for 6 years!
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
What will you do with that major? Will you be able to make a living?
How I responded:
I did my research, spoke to people in the field. I looked up pay salary statistics, took an intro course to the major, and made my choice.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
College is expensive!!! My biggest advice is, if you're unsure of your major go to a community college and get all your general education classes out of the way, and make sure they TRANSFER TO YOUR 4 YEAR COLLEGE! Be smart about tuition. Loans aren't cool.
