My path in life has been direct
1.
I took an Outward Bound course in Maine, which got me on a path toward outdoor education.
2.
I worked for The Food Project, teaching young people and volunteers about sustainability agriculture.
3.
I took a NOLS course in Alaska and started guiding trips. Continued guiding during the summers.
4.
Worked at a public high school in Boston to implement environmental education training for teachers.
5.
Taught at Eagle Rock School & Professional Development Center in CO after college.
6.
I took courses at Harvard part-time, which launched me on my career in campus sustainability.
7.
Traveled on retrofitted yellow school bus to different bioregions in the country for grad school.
8.
I decided to leave Boston & a colleague pointed me to my current position.

THE NOISE
You graduated with a philosophy degree. Geez, you're more unemployable than me.
How I responded:
I worked hard to ignore this negative noise and kept pursuing activities that interest me. I was mindful of the experiences I took in and learned how to market myself.
