Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
You shouldn't focus on your academic goals ahead of professional obligations.
How I responded:
Focus on the big picture...don't get stuck in a path that goes nowhere. Your educational goals should be at the forefront of your personal and professional obligations. Knowledge is the key to success and the degree you earn is a testament to your dedication towards success, both personal and professional.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I am the first in my family to attend, graduate and pay-it-forward. Taking that first step of applying, focused attention, and not letting anything stand in the way of my goals is what drove me to completing my graduate education.
