Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
How is that degree (Political Science) or those clases going to help you?
How I responded:
In reality, what I chose to major in was inspired by a high school teacher. The coursework was immensely interesting but it did set me on course that developed elements of myself that came to alienate from certain parts/ members of my family. Educating myself did give me skills and made topics of conversation that I found engaging different than my family. In the end, it very much helped me but not in way my family could understand first hand or at the time.
