How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You're such a good student. Why would you want to become a teacher? They don't make any money.
How I responded:
As a teacher and professor, every day I have the opportunity to touch and inspire lives for good. By preparing teachers, my work ripples out to classrooms all over the world. My work with college students is especially gratifying. I am privileged to share students' four-year Pepperdine journey with them as they navigate the transitional years between childhood and adulthood and equip themselves to serve and lead through their chosen vocation. That's meaningful work!
