Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Teachers:
I was a child of divorce with an alcoholic mom, who was a below average high school student and said “poor thing will likely end up barefoot and pregnant” as per school administrators in the late 1980’s.
How I responded:
Odds are sometimes against you because of the condition in which you were born. It is incumbent upon you to write your own story and envision how you want your story to read. I was fortunate to have grandparents, aunts and uncles that prayed for me and my well-being and I found mentors to help navigate my journey along the way. Education is something that no one can take from you. A Mans Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl was a source of strength throughout my life regardless the obstacles.
