My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Deciding on a career. I sought out an internship opportunity at my local hospital, and that is where I decided that nursing was for me.
2.
After finally completing all my prerequisites for nursing school, I was rejected from a nursing school.
3.
I pivoted and decided that I wanted to obtain my bachelor's in psychology.
4.
After I graduated, I applied for nursing school again, and got in!
5.
I survived nursing school and began my career straight away in the emergency department.

THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
The noise I heard was that nursing could be difficult and competitive, and my family didn't have a history with healthcare workers, so it was unfamiliar to me.
How I responded:
I've dealt with discouragement by understanding who I am and what I stand for. I've learned to take constructive criticism and grow with it.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Their own business and I have watched them work tirelessly to provide for our family. I am beyond grateful for the opportunities I have been given and constantly strive for more.
