I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
I went through a lot of ups and downs in my time at being at Taco Bell. I was 23 when I found out that I had breast cancer. I wasn't sure at this point if I should keep working or stay at home.
2.
I failed, I got back up, and I tried again.
3.
I am so thankful at 24 years old that I stayed at my job. I am now recovered from the breast cancer and was able to keep working.
4.
I started fostering as a single parent when I was only 21. This was a challenge when I first started but now life is so much more of a balance.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
I heard so many crazy things when I took this job. I will never have free time, I am always going to be at work. The pay is terrible, you will be so stressed out all the time. I could go on and on.
How I responded:
Go for it. You will never know you can fly if you never jump. You have to let go of all the negativity of what others might say or think. The world can sometimes make fast food seem horrible but I think it has been the best opportunity for myself and my family. I was able to go to dental school while running a Taco Bell, being a foster parent, and working full time.
