My path in life has been direct
1.
She knew from a young age that she wanted to go into politics-she always had ideas about how things could be done better.

Got involved in youth movements, women's groups and peace movements; realized that effecting change was always easier with a group.

Even though she knew what kind of job she wanted, it took her a long time to find a path that could lead to her end goals.
4.
She went to school to study journalism, then got a job writing policy related to domestic violence.
5.
Says it doesn't make sense to pick out a career until you're clear about the kind of person you want to be.
6.
Believes that there's no such thing as "wasting your time" on something, because every experience teaches you something new.
7.
Case in point: the job that she hated the most actually taught her how to best handle adversity.

Says if you do what you feel passionately about, and you do it as best as you can, the rest will take care of itself.
