My English courses are deep dives into the exploration of humanity through literature and building communication skills. I build my lesson plans around achieving this every week. I also oversee the AVID college-preparatory program on campus, working with students to ensure they are college ready. My goal every day is to engage students and inspire them to excel.

How Leaders Describe a Typical Day at Work
Teaching is never the same day twice. I work with students to improve their skills and prepare them for life beyond high school. As head of the lab, I focus my lesson plans on three areas of neuroscience: behavioral, computational, and fundamentals. I spend a lot of time designing projects and experiments for my students that will help them learn these aspects of neuroscience.

Have an understanding of basic technology, science, and be passionate about helping others.
Communication and relationship building. Listening and understanding. Watching and observing. Self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-determination are really important. Read a lot of books and take a lot of chances. I've learned that you have to just move forward and not be afraid of failure. Take time to enjoy small success and always reflect on those. Only focus on the things that you can control and not on what you can't.
