Day In The Life

Technical Associate

I set up machines to build engine parts for aircraft and then remove once completed.

My Day to Day

I help run our DMLM (Digital Melting Laser Machines) machines. We create a part that is built by combining a metal powder with the process of a laser melting that powder and adhering it to a stainless steel plate. Once that process is completed we remove the powder from the machine, revealing a group of parts that will go on to be used in the assembly of aircraft engines that carry people near and far!

Skills & Education

Advice for getting started

My tendency to be independent and want things done the way I want is a source of conflict in a team environment like this job. I've had to learn to step back and let others help and know when to ask for help.

  • Certification
