My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Wanted to be in a medical career, so got my nurse assistant degree summer of 10th grade.
2.
Hurt my back in a bad accident; moved up to front office of nursing home.
3.
Applied for an accounting manager job, totally under-qualified, got an interview.
4.
I got the job and two days later found out I was going to be laid off with a bank merger.
5.
Stuck out that job and through a retain program, moved into corporate office as a secretary.
6.
Moved up within that company based on hard work and willingness to learn.

How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:

How I responded:
I used my strengths and hard work. I didn't have money for college and I had a family to support, so college was out, but I used my time at work to learn and grow.
